Welcome to the UK Mission to the United Nations
“The United Nations is at the centre of some of the most difficult and important challenges the United Kingdom and the world face today: how do we halve extreme poverty and hunger and achieve the other Millennium Development Goals by 2015; how do we end the conflict in Darfur that has cost 250,000 lives and driven 2 million from their homes; how do we find a global solution to the problem of climate change? The United Kingdom, through its mission here in New York, plays a prominent role in trying to find answers to these questions and to many others that the United Nations addresses in promoting peace and security, development, and human rights.
Our website offers a wide range of information about the UK's work at the UN and our support of its different activities, bodies and agencies. I hope you find it interesting. If you have any comments, suggestions or queries please feel free to contact our Mission.”
