The first race in the 2012 British Junior Road Race Series took place on April 6th, and the team sponsored by the Isle of Man based online casino software giant, Microgaming, put in a solid performance.  The youngsters who make up Team Microgaming are Leon Mazzone and Jamie Dudley, both 16, and 18 year old Jake Kelly.

The event, spread over the course of two days, began on Saturday morning 104 km over 8 laps of a flat 13 km circuit around Chew Valley Lake on the Isle of Man.  However, the second day was much more difficult, with the teams having to climb up four ascents on the Mendip Hills, riding a total of 96 km.

After a tough competition and difficult riding conditions, Team Microgaming finished sixth in the team competition, while Mazzone came in fifth in the mountain competition.

"Overall it was a great team performance, especially from the first year juniors Leon and Jamie in their first junior outing, and a very mature and measured ride from Jake," noted Team Microgaming's manager, Gary Mazzone.

Microgaming regularly supports private and public ventures and this corporate responsibility is deeply embedded in the company's vision.  In November last year, Microgaming won the Isle of Man Awards for Excellence award for Corporate Social Responsibility.  Sponsorship deals extend across sports clubs and societies, hospitals and more.
